What is a biometric health screening?
A biometric health screening is a convenient way to assess your risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.  The process takes about 15 minutes from the point of check-in to completion.  A small blood sample is collected from a finger stick to measure total cholesterol, HDL "good" cholesterol, LDL "bad" cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. Blood pressure, waist circumference, height, weight, and BMI (body mass index) are also measured during the screening process.
What is a health assessment?
A health assessment is a self-rated questionnaire.  Participants answer a series of questions about a range of health behaviors and as well as perceived physical, mental, and emotional health status.  Self-rated health questionnaires have been found to be a reliable measurement of general health.
Why should I participate?
Screenings are a critical part of your wellness program.  Awareness is the first step in maintaining and monitoring your health, and wellness screenings provide a convenient “snapshot” of your current biomarkers.  Plus there is no cost to you!  These events can help you:
 - Find out where you are in the healthy range (strengths)
 - Learn about possible borderline results (risks)
 - Work with your physician to update your health care
 - Focus your efforts on the most impactful ways to improve your health
How long will it take to get results and for them to appear on my MedExpert portal?
You will learn your results on the day of the screening, and your results will be posted in your MedExpert portal by about two weeks after the screening event.
What should I do with my results?
