Lose Well med

Informational Meetings January 12-17 

Program begins in February 2017

This is a six-month clinically supervised program that focuses on lifestyle change in order to lose weight and continue to keep it off in the long term.  It includes intake and exit assessments, individual nutrition counseling, group nutrition sessions, personal training sessions, access to ACAC and more

Program costs are shared by Anthem, BeWell Albemarle and the employee.  The employee share is $300 and may be paid up front or over the 6 months of the program at $50/month.  Any copays or deductibles associated with the program are also the responsibility of the employee.

In order to participate, employees must meet all of the following requirements:
  1. Be an employee of Albemarle County, Albemarle County Public Schools or a partner agency with County benefits (Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention and Albemarle County Service Authority).
  2. Be enrolled in an Albemarle County health plan.
  3. Have a BMI (body mass index) of ≥ 35 or, or a BMI ≥ 30 along with one or more medical conditions (such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.)  Click here for a BMI calculator.
  4. Attend one of the informational meetings listed below.
  5. Has not participated in the Lose Well program previously.
